Welcome to Saint James
We, the parish family of Saint James Church, New Alexandria, consisting of diverse, dedicated, hard-working people, hold firm the traditions and beliefs of our Catholic faith. Our mission is to keep this faith alive and growing through the love of the Eucharist, the Sacraments, and Word of God. Responding to our baptismal call, we are devoted to fostering spiritual formation, strengthening Christian values, evangelizing and caring for all. As we travel on our Journey of a Lifetime, under guidance of the Holy Spirit, we help the community to strive and seek the kingdom of God.

We are an active faith community of just over 300 households, and we strive to deepen the faith and to broaden the vision of our faith, our celebration of the liturgy is the life blood of our parish.
Parishioners of Saint James can participate in all three sacraments of initiation--Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation--when they reach the appropriate age and/or have participated in sacramental preparation. Parishioners can partake in the celebration of the Eucharist at every Mass, and can participate in the sacrament of Reconciliation, Saturdays, at 4:00 p.m. or by appointment.
Parishioners of Saint James can celebrate the sacrament of marriage by contacting the parish office at least six months in advance. The reception of Anointing of the Sick can be scheduled as well. Any parishioner interested in exploring vocations can do so by visiting www.gbgvocations.org.
